Terms & Conditions

Make a Booking

You must be at least 18 years of age to book accommodation at Glebe Holidays Northumberland.

The maximum number of guests at The Glebe Retreat is two adults.

The maximum number of guests at The Old School is four persons.

Full payment is required to secure a booking.

It is strongly advised that you have adequate holiday/travel insurance prior to making your booking.

Booking Confirmation

All bookings will be considered as acceptance of these terms and conditions and will be confirmed by email to the email address provided at the time of booking.

Please check all details carefully and notify Glebe Holidays Northumberland immediately should there be any discrepancies.

Payment

Payment should be made by debit or credit card via our online booking system.

Check In and Check Out Times

Your accommodation will be ready for you by 16:00 on the day of arrival, and must be vacated by 10:00 on day of departure, unless otherwise agreed. 

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the availability of early check in or late check out.

Property Care

All guests agree to keep accommodation clean and tidy and leave it in such condition as it was found on arrival. Any damages must be reported to Glebe Holidays Northumberland as soon as possible.

Guests may be subject to an additional surcharge to cover cleaning costs if the accommodation is left in an excessively poor condition.

Guests will be required to pay for any damage/loss that occurs during their stay.

Pets

Unfortunately, we cannot allow pets at Glebe holidays Northumberland.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in any area at Glebe Holidays Northumberland.

If it is apparent that guests have been smoking, extra cleaning/fumigation costs will be incurred.

Candles

The use of candles is not permitted in your accommodation or anywhere on the Glebe Holidays Northumberland site.

Outdoor Fire Pits/BBQ and Indoor Stove

Guests must read the instructions provided in advance of using the stove or fire pits and use all facilities responsibly. Only seasoned fire wood should be used and accelerants are strictly prohibited.

Guests are not permitted to make camp fires anywhere on the Glebe Holidays Northumberland site.

Utilities

Should there be a failure in a utility or service (such as water, heating, electricity, sewerage) please notify Glebe holidays Northumberland immediately.

Should any failure of service/utility extend beyond a 12 hour period from notification, compensation will be proportionate to the loss of enjoyment suffered, unless the reason for the failure in a utility or service is beyond the control of Glebe Holidays Northumberland.

Cancellations

  • Bookings cancelled 12 weeks or more prior to arrival date will receive a full refund minus a £50 administration fee.
  • Bookings cancelled 6 to 12 weeks prior to arrival date will receive a 50% refund minus a £50 administration fee.
  • Bookings cancelled with less than 6 weeks prior to arrival date receive no refund.
  • Glebe Holidays Northumberland should be notified in writing should you wish to cancel/amend a booking.

If you are unable to travel due to personal illness (eg. Coronavirus or other sickness) our cancellation policy above will apply.

We recommend guests take out holiday cancellation insurance at the time of booking.

Glebe Holidays Northumberland reserves the right to cancel bookings at any time if guests are found to be disruptive, rude, obstructive, abusive and/or break these terms and conditions. In such circumstances, guests will be required to vacate the accommodation immediately and no refund will be payable to the guests for the unexpired part of their stay.

Booking Amendments

Any requests to rearrange your booking more than 6 weeks prior to your stay will be at our discretion and will incur a £50 administration fee. 

We regret that any request to amend booking dates within 6 weeks of your arrival date will not be permitted. If you are no longer able to stay this will be classed as a cancellation as detailed above.

Due Care and Attention

You should take appropriate and reasonable care for your safety and the safety of others at all times. This includes wearing suitable clothing and footwear for the terrain and weather conditions. You are responsible for your own safety.

Glebe Holidays Northumberland will endeavour to keep any steps and decking areas of all spaces clean, please be aware that when wet, the steps and decking areas can become very slippery. Guests must take care and hold onto the hand rails provided at all times.

Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.

We do not accept any liability for damage to any member of your party or any of your possessions whilst on our premises. 

Environmental Considerations

Please be mindful that Glebe Holidays Northumberland is based in a hamlet with neighbouring properties nearby.

We ask that you keep noise levels to a minimum (including the use of music) when on the premises and likewise when you are entering and leaving your accommodation. Please respect the natural environment and the neighbours.

Personal Property

Glebe Holidays Northumberland will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to any property brought onto the premises or in vehicles.  Accessories and contents are left at the owner’s risk. It is recommended that your holiday insurance covers loss or damage to personal effects.

Lost and Found

Any item left behind can be posted and returned to you, subject to a £20 administration fee plus postage and packing costs. If an item left behind cannot be posted then we will keep the item for 14 days to enable you to arrange collection.

Glebe Holidays Northumberland does not accept any responsibility for returning items of lost property.

Parking

Guests are required to park in the designated parking areas for our properties. When accessing the site please ensure all gates are closed behind you.

Please drive through the village with care and attention especially after dark when you may encounter wildlife on the road.

Availability

Each booking is made in good faith with the belief that your accommodation will be available to you on the date stated. If for any reason due to circumstances out of our control, your accommodation is not available, we will refund your deposit and balance payment in full. You will have no further claim against Glebe Holidays Northumberland.

Adverse Travel Conditions & Inclement Weather

Glebe Holidays Northumberland holds no responsibility for guests unable to attend their retreat due to extreme weather or traffic conditions (i.e., snow, flooding, wind, road congestion etc.). If a guest is unable to reach Glebe Holidays Northumberland due to poor weather conditions or travel issues, they will lose their full payment and an alternative break will not be offered. Please ensure you have full travel insurance to cover such an instance.

Rental Restrictions

It is a condition of booking that accommodation may only be occupied by the person named in the booking and/or their companion/immediate family. Accommodation may not be sub-let to a third party. If this is found to be the case, the third party will have no legal right of occupancy and will be required to vacate the accommodation immediately with no refund for the unexpired part of their stay.

Force Majeure

Glebe Holidays Northumberland accepts no liability for events prior to or during your stay totally beyond our control, e.g., destruction of property due to flood, fire, earthquakes or acts of nature; or if the property becomes uninhabitable due to irreparable damage or on Health & Safety issues that could not reasonably have been foreseen; industrial action, invasion/war, civil disturbance, acts of terrorism or orders issued by central government. In such cases refunds will be at the discretion of Glebe Holidays Northumberland.

Review of Terms & Conditions

Glebe Holidays Northumberland reserves the right to change or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
